ENGLEWOOD, Colo.— The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson, it was announced. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Also on Tuesday, the team released defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith.

(6-foot-5, 321 pounds) is a fifth-year player who spent the last three seasons with Tennessee before being traded in the offseason to Seattle, which released him. He also spent two seasons with Miami, which selected him in the seventh round (176th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft from Michigan State University.

He has played 24 career games (2 starts), totaling 75 tackles (36 solo), 1.5 sacks (7.5 yds.), four passes defensed and one fumble recovery. He also has four solo tackles in two postseason contests with the Titans.

A four-year letterman at Michigan State, Vickerson played 44 career games (19 starts) for the Spartans and recorded 113 tackles, 24.5 tackles for a loss, 8.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and two blocked kicks. He earned Prep All-America accolades as a senior at Martin Luther King High School in Detroit and was born on Jan. 8, 1983.
