BRONCOS ANNOUNCE SEVERAL TRANSACTIONS

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos announced several transactions Tuesday, including the assignment of tight end Kory Sperry off waivers from Miami.

The club also released linebacker Akin Ayodele and waived offensive lineman Tyler Polumbus.

Sperry (6-foot-4, 238 pounds) is a second-year player who participated in eight games (1 start) for Miami as a rookie in 2009. He was originally signed by San Diego as a college free agent on May 1, 2009, from Colorado State University.

He caught 141 passes for 1,763 yards (12.5 avg.) with 20 touchdowns during his career with the Rams. An All-Colorado selection as a senior at Pueblo County High School in Pueblo, Colo., Sperry was born on April 10, 1985.

Ayodele was signed by the club as a free agent during the offseason. Polumbus, who was originally signed by Denver as a college free agent in 2008 from the University of Colorado, played 31 games (8 starts) in two seasons with the club.
