ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Friday signed rookie free-agent linebacker Worrell Williams, it was announced. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Also on Friday, the club waived rookie linebacker Devin Bishop.

Williams (6-foot-0, 250 pounds) is a rookie player who spent the 2009 season with the California Redwoods of the UFL after playing four seasons at the University of California-Berkeley, where he started 36 games for the Golden Bears and recorded 246 career tackles (115 solo) to finish 11th in school history in that category.  

A SuperPrep and PrepStar All-American at Grant Union High School in Sacramento, Calif., Williams was born on March 6, 1986. His brother is Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams.
