BRONCOS ANNOUNCE SEVERAL TRANSACTIONS
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos announced several transactions on Wednesday, including placing outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware (back) and cornerback Kayvon Webster (concussion) on injured reserve.
Also on Wednesday, the Broncos activated cornerback Taurean Nixon and nose tackle Kyle Peko to their active roster and signed three players to their practice squad: offensive lineman Reese Dismukes, defensive lineman Iosia Iosia and wide receiver Hunter Sharpe.
Dismukes (6-3, 300 pounds) is a first-year player who competed with Carolina during the 2016 preseason after spending time on practice squads with the Panthers and Steelers as a rookie in 2015. Signed by Pittsburgh as a college free agent from Auburn University, Dismukes started all 50 games played for the Tigers, winning the Rimington Trophy as a senior for the most outstanding center in college football. His last name is pronounced dism-yooks.
Iosia (6-5, 297 pounds) is a rookie who competed with Arizona during the 2016 preseason after being signed by Tennessee as a college free agent from West Texas A&M. He posted 86 tackles (42 solo) and 9.5 sacks in two seasons (21 games) for West Texas A&M after transferring from City College of San Francisco. His full name is pronounced SEE-uh SEE-uh.
Sharp (5-11, 198 pounds) is a rookie who spent the 2016 preseason with Philadelphia after being signed by the Eagles as a college free agent from Utah State University. In two years with the Aggies (25 games), Sharp totaled 137 receptions for 1,774 yards (12.9 avg.) with 16 touchdowns. He began his collegiate career at Antelope Valley Junior College.
