BRONCOS SIGN LB QUENTIN GAUSE FROM PRACTICE SQUAD; PLACE WR MARLON BROWN ON INJURED RESERVE

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Saturday signed linebacker Quentin Gause to their active roster and placed wide receiver Marlon Brown on injured reserve, it was announced.

Gause (#49, 6-0, 243 pounds) is a rookie from Rutgers University who spent the last eight weeks of the season on Denver’s practice squad. He also competed on practice squads with Philadelphia and New England this season after being signed by the Eagles as a college free agent on May 5. In three preseason games with Philadelphia, he collected eight tackles (7 solo) one interception and two special-teams stops.

In 51 career games (24 starts) at Rutgers, Gause totaled 223 tackles (139 solo), 27.5 tackles for a loss and three sacks. He received All-Big Ten Conference recognition following his senior season in 2015 after ranking second on the Scarlet Knights in defensive stops (96), including a team-best 12 tackles for a loss.

A graduate of Bishop Kearney High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., Gause was born on Oct. 30, 1992.
