DENVER BRONCOS CB BRADLEY ROBY NAMED AFC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Denver’s 27-19 win against the San Diego Chargers, the NFL informed the Broncos on Wednesday.

The award represents the first conference recognition of his career and the second AFC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the Broncos this season (OLB Von Miller, Week 2).

Making his first start of the season on Sunday, Roby totaled seven tackles two passes defensed and an interception returned for a touchdown against the Chargers. His 49-yard pick-six in the second quarter gave Denver a 10-7 advantage and the Broncos would hold on to the lead for the rest of the game.

Roby’s recognition marks the 32nd time a Broncos defensive player has earned conference player of the week honors since the award was initiated by the NFL in 1984.
