ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Saturday signed quarterback Austin Davis, it was announced.

Davis (6-2, 221 pounds) is a fifth-year player who appeared in 13 career games (10 starts) with St. Louis (2014) and Cleveland (2015). He entered the NFL with the Rams as a college free agent in 2012 from Southern Mississippi University.

For his career, Davis has completed 236-of-378 passes (62.4%) for 2,548 yards with 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions (80.4 rtg.). He also has rushed 23 times for 69 yards (3.0 avg.).

A former walk-on at Southern Mississippi, Davis went on to break most of the school’s passing records formerly held by Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre. Davis graduated from West Lauderdale High School in Collinsville, Miss., and was born on June 2, 1989.
