ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Thursday signed rookie offensive tackle Sam Carlson and designated wide receiver Marlon Brown as waived/injured, it was announced.

Carlson (6-4, 295 pounds) was signed by Tennessee as a college free agent from Colorado State University before being waived by the club on July 29.

He started 26-of-28 career games played at CSU, competing at center, guard and tackle for the Rams. Carlson earned honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference recognition following his senior season in 2015.

A three-year starter along the offensive line at Poudre High School in Ft. Collins, Colo., Carlson was born on April 30, 1993.
