ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Monday signed unrestricted free-agent linebacker Dekoda Watson, it was announced.

Watson (6-2, 240 pounds) is a seventh-year player who appeared in 73 career regular-season games (7 starts) and four postseason contests with Tampa Bay (2010-13), Jacksonville (2014), Dallas (2014) and New England (2015). He was selected by the Buccaneers in the seventh round (217th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft from Florida State University.

His career totals include 82 defensive tackles (65 solo), three sacks (19 yds.), one interception, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He also owns 39 career special-teams stops.

Watson most recently played for the Patriots, appearing in three regular-season games and both playoff contests for the team. He combined to play 10 games (1 start) for Jacksonville and Dallas in 2014 following four seasons (2010-13) with Tampa Bay.

A team captain and second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection as a senior at Florida State, Watson started 32-of-47 career games for the Seminoles and collected 184 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two interceptions, 10 passes defensed and three fumble recoveries.  

Watson attended South Aiken (S.C.) High School and was born on March 3, 1988.
