BRONCOS SIGN CB TAUREAN NIXON TO ACTIVE ROSTER; PLACE S OMAR BOLDEN ON INJURED RESERVE
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed cornerback Taurean Nixon to their active roster and placed safety Omar Bolden on injured reserve, it was announced.
Nixon (5-10, 187 pounds) is a rookie from Tulane University who has competed on the Broncos’ practice squad this season after being selected by the club in the seventh round (251st overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He started 21-of-38 career games at Tulane and the University of Memphis, totaling 92 tackles (71 solo), two interceptions, nine passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Bolden appeared in nine regular-season contests as well as Denver’s AFC Divisional Playoff Game against Pittsburgh this year. He finished the season as the Broncos’ leading punt returner (5-123, 24.6 avg., 1 TD) and kickoff returner (15-342, 22.8 avg.).
