ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Monday tendered restricted free-agent cornerback Tony Carter, Executive Vice President of Football Operations/General Manager John Elway announced.

Carter (5-9, 175 pounds) is a seventh-year player who has appeared in 42 career regular-season games (3 starts) with Denver (2009, ’11-14) and New England (2010). He entered the NFL with the Broncos as a college free agent from Florida State University in 2009.

Carter’s career totals include 42 tackles (37 solo), three interceptions (55 yds.), 22 passes defensed and three fumble recoveries. In five postseason games, he has recorded six tackles (5 solo) and two passes defensed.
