BRONCOS WR EMMANUEL SANDERS SELECTED TO 2015 PRO BOWL
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was selected to play in the 2015 Pro Bowl, the NFL informed the team on Thursday. He will replace Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones, who is unable to participate due to injury.
Sanders caught 101 passes for 1,404 yards with nine touchdowns in his first season with the Broncos in 2014. Both totals ranked fifth in the NFL and represented career highs for the first-time Pro Bowler.
His receiving yardage and reception totals also ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, in league history by a player in his first year with a new team.
Sanders is the 10th Broncos player this season to make the Pro Bowl—an NFL-high—tying for the most selections in franchise history (1998).
He also represents the fourth Denver free-agent acquisition to be named to the squad, making the Broncos one of two teams in history (Carolina, 1996) to sign four players who made the Pro Bowl in their first year with a team (Sanders, CB Aqib Talib, S T.J. Ward, DE DeMarcus Ware).
