BRONCOS RB C.J. ANDERSON NAMED AFC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Denver’s 47-14 win against the Oakland Raiders, the NFL informed the Broncos on Wednesday.

The award represents the first conference recognition of his career and the fourth AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor for the Broncos this season (TE Julius Thomas, Wk. 1; WR Demaryius Thomas, Wk. 5; QB Peyton Manning, Wk. 7).

Anderson rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries (6.7 avg.) against Oakland on Sunday while adding two catches for 20 yards. His three touchdowns led all NFL players in Week 17 and represented his second game of the season with three rushing scores. With his effort, he joined Broncos running back Terrell Davis as the only players in franchise history with multiple games in a season rushing for at least three touchdowns.

This marks the 57th time a Broncos player has taken home AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors since it was initiated by the NFL in 1984.
