BRONCOS CLAIM LB TODD DAVIS OFF WAIVERS; PLACE LB NATE IRVING ON INJURED RESERVE
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Thursday claimed linebacker Todd Davis off waivers from New Orleans and placed linebacker Nate Irving on injured reserve, it was announced.
Davis (6-1, 230 pounds) is a rookie who saw action in three games for the Saints this season and collected two special-teams tackles after being signed by the club as a college free agent from Sacramento State University.
He played 45 games during his collegiate career and ranked second in school history with 351 tackles (157 solo) to go along with 9.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three interceptions, six passes defensed and one blocked kick. Davis was named a first-team All-Big Sky Conference selection as a senior in 2013 after totaling 131 tackles and five sacks.
A graduate of Paraclete High School in Lancaster, Calif., Davis was born on May 17, 1992.
