ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Monday signed defensive end Zach Thompson to their practice squad, it was announced.
Thompson (6-5, 265 pounds) is a rookie from Wake Forest University who spent the preseason with the N.Y. Jets after signing with the club as a college free agent on May 11.
He played 44 games (40 starts) for the Demon Deacons and totaled 151 tackles (73 solo), 11 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery during his collegiate career.
Thompson attended Stone Bridge (Va.) High School and was born on Jan. 18, 1991, in Ashburn, Va.
