ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —The Denver Broncos on Wednesday signed rookie kicker Mitch Ewald, the team announced.

Ewald played 48 games for Indiana University and finished his career as the program’s all-time leader in field goals (53), field goal percentage (80.3%) and extra points (161). In four seasons, he connected on 53-of-66 field goals (80.3%) and 161-of-162 (99.4%) extra points to rank second in Hoosiers history with 320 points scored. 

Ewald attended Waubonsie High School in Aurora, Ill., and was born on Sept. 2, 1990.
