ENGLEWOOD, Colo.— The Denver Broncos on Tuesday acquired offensive lineman John Moffitt from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for defensive tackle Sealver Siliga, Executive Vice president of Football Operations John Elway announced.

Moffitt (6-4, 319 pounds) is a third-year player who saw action in 17 career regular-season games (15 starts) and two postseason contests during his first two NFL seasons with the Seahawks after being drafted by the club in the third round (75th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft.

He opened six of eight regular-season games played in 2012 (four at right guard, two at left guard) in addition to contributing in both playoff games for Seattle. As a rookie, he started nine consecutive games to begin his NFL career before being placed on injured reserve in November.

Moffitt started 42-of-45 career games at the University of Wisconsin at the guard and center positions, where he totaled 280 knockdowns/key blocks and 46 touchdown-resulting blocks.

A graduate of Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Conn., Moffitt was born on Oct. 28, 1986.
