    During the period beginning at 12 noon, New York time, on March 7th and ending at 3:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9th, clubs are permitted to contact, and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2016 player contracts at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 9. However, a contract cannot be executed with a new club until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 9.

    During the above two-day negotiating period, no direct contact is permitted between a prospective unrestricted free agent and any employee or representative of a club, other than the player’s current club.

    The 2017 League Year and Free Agency period begin at 4:00 p.m., New York time.

    The first day of the 2017 League Year will end at 11:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9. Clubs will receive a personnel notice that will include all transactions submitted to the League office during the period between 4:00 p.m., New York time, and 11:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9.

    Trading period for 2017 begins at 4:00 p.m., New York time, after expiration of all 2016 contracts.

BRONCOS SIGN G JUSTIN BOREN & WR GERELL ROBINSON TO FUTURE CONTRACTS

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —The Denver Broncos on Monday signed offensive guard Justin Boren and wide receiver Gerell Robinson to future contracts, it was announced.

Boren (6-foot-2, 315 pounds) is a first-year player who spent the last two seasons competing on practice squads with Detroit (2012) and Baltimore (2011) after being signed by the Ravens as a college free agent from Ohio State University.

He was a 26-game starter in college for the Buckeyes, where he won the Jim Parker Award for the team’s most outstanding lineman following his senior campaign. A two-way standout at Pickerington North (Ohio) High School, Boren was born on April 28, 1988.

Robinson (6-foot-4, 222 pounds) is a rookie who was signed by Denver as a college free agent and spent the preseason with the club, catching four passes for 53 yards (13.3 avg.) in four games. He spent the majority of the regular season competing on Arizona’s practice squad.

He totaled 135 receptions for 2,071 yards (15.3 avg.) with 12 touchdowns in his college career at Arizona State University, where he teamed with Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler to catch 77 passes for 1,397 yards (18.1 avg.) and seven scores as a senior. A second-team All-USA pick by USA Today following his senior prep campaign at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz., he was born on Oct. 13, 1989.
