ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — TheDenver Broncos hired Cory Undlin as defensive quality control coach, Head Coach John Fox announced on Tuesday.

Undlin, 40, who enters his 15th year in coaching, spent the past three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, tutoring the club’s defensive backs the past two campaigns after one year as a defensive assistant. He previously served four seasons on the coaching staff of the Cleveland Browns (2005-08) and one with the New England Patriots (2004).

He began his coaching career instructing linebackers at his alma mater, California Lutheran University, in 1998 before being promoted to defensive coordinator in 2000. He coached two seasons as a graduate assistant defensive backs coach at Fresno State University before making his jump to the NFL.

A defensive back at California Lutheran from 1990-94, Undlin was born on June 9, 1971, in St. Cloud, Minn.
