Fox will take part in a three-hour training and briefing at Peterson Air Force base in Colorado Springs, Colo., before his opportunity to experience flight from a fighter pilot’s perspective during a one-hour ride along.
The Thunderbirds is the Air Force’s official demonstration team. Its purpose is to showcase the integrity, selfless service and excellence embodied by American Airmen. Each year, the Thunderbirds team performs the flyover for the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony, which brings the unit to Colorado.
Fox will arrive at Peterson Air Force Base at approximately 1:15 p.m. MDT on Monday, May 21. There will be opportunities for photos and B-Roll as he sits with the pilot to discuss his flight path, safety and other details of his ride along. Thunderbirds team members and Air Force Academy cadets will be on hand as Fox takes off at approximately 5 p.m. for the one-hour flight.
