ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos signed linebacker Brian Iwuh to their active roster and waived safety Kyle McCarthy, it was announced on Wednesday.

(6-foot-0, 239 pounds) is a sixth-year player who has seen action in 85 career games (4 starts) with Chicago (2010-11) and Jacksonville (2006-09) after signing with the Jaguars as a college free agent from the University of Colorado in 2006.

For his career, he has totaled 54 tackles (42 solo), one sack (8 yds.) three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery on defense. He has also recorded 61 special-teams stops during his six NFL seasons.

Iwuh, who was an All-Big 12 Conference performer at Colorado, attended Worthing High School in Houston. His last name is pronounced E-woo.
