NEARLY $70,000 RAISED IN 7th ANNUAL COLORADO SPORTS HALL OF FAME GOLF CLASSIC

DENVER – The seventh annual Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Golf Classic, which was held Sept. 12 at The Broadmoor East Golf Course in Colorado Springs, raised approximately $70,000 for the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Museum’s Colorado Golf Association and Gold Crown Foundation exhibits as well as its youth sports programs.

The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, created in 1964, is located at Gate 1 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

“The continued success of this tournament is very important for the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, moving forward our youth programs and community initiatives, said Kile Powers, Chairman of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. “Our annual Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, in its 48th year, has always been tremendous, but additional events like this and Championship Saturday, in its seventh year, help further our mission to continue supporting youth sports organizations in our state.”

The Golf Classic was sold out at 120 players and featured a private players’ reception at Penrose House, donated by El Pomar Foundation, the night before the golf tournament. The Presenting and Silver Sponsor foursomes, as part of their sponsor package, received luxury hotel rooms at The Broadmoor.

MillerCoors Brewing Company again was the Presenting Sponsor for the Golf Classic and has been a long-standing supporter of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.

Silver Sponsors were Quaker Oats / Gatorade, Denver Broncos Stadium Management Company, Wells Fargo Bank, The Denver Post, AT&T Mobility, IMA of Colorado, Ecologic Industries, Colorado Golf Association, Colorado School of Trades, Centerplate, Envirotech Services, Douglass Colony Group, Stewart Title Guaranty, The Integer Group, Seigneur Gustafson & Dynamic Funding and ClearvoiceResearch.
