    During the period beginning at 12 noon, New York time, on March 7th and ending at 3:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9th, clubs are permitted to contact, and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2016 player contracts at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 9. However, a contract cannot be executed with a new club until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 9.

    During the above two-day negotiating period, no direct contact is permitted between a prospective unrestricted free agent and any employee or representative of a club, other than the player’s current club.

    The 2017 League Year and Free Agency period begin at 4:00 p.m., New York time.

    The first day of the 2017 League Year will end at 11:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9. Clubs will receive a personnel notice that will include all transactions submitted to the League office during the period between 4:00 p.m., New York time, and 11:59:59 p.m., New York time, on March 9.

    Trading period for 2017 begins at 4:00 p.m., New York time, after expiration of all 2016 contracts.

BRONCOS ANNOUNCE SEVERAL TRANSACTIONS

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos announced several transactions on Monday, including the signing of tight ends Daniel Fells and Dante Rosario, defensive end Derrick Harvey and defensive tackle Marcus Thomas.

Additionally, Denver acquired defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley from Philadelphia in exchange for a 2013 draft choice and waived safety Nick Polk, cornerback James Rogers and wide receiver Marshall Williams.

Fells
(6-foot-4, 272 pounds) is a fifth-year tight end who spent the last three seasons with St. Louis after originally signing with Atlanta as a college free agent from the University of California-Davis in 2006. In 42 career games (11 starts), he registered 69 receptions for 745 yards (10.8 avg.) and five touchdowns.

Rosario
(6-foot-4, 250 pounds) is a fifth-year tight end who spent his first four NFL seasons with Carolina after being drafted by the club in the fifth round (155th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft from the University of Oregon. In 62 career regular-season games (21 starts), he hauled in 82 receptions for 894 yards (10.9 avg.) and five touchdowns. He played one postseason game for the Panthers, totaling three catches for 28 yards (9.3 avg.).

Harvey
(6-foot-5, 268 pounds) is a fourth-year defensive end who spent his first three seasons with Jacksonville, which drafted him in the first round (8th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft form the University of Florida. With the Jaguars, he played 47 games (32 starts) and recorded 88 tackles (70 solo), eight sacks and five pass deflections, according to press box totals.

Bunkley
(6-foot-2, 306 pounds) is a sixth-year defensive tackle who spent his first five seasons with Philadelphia after being selected by the Eagles with the 14th pick in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft from Florida State University. In 76 career regular-season games (52 starts), he totaled 144 (111 solo), including six sacks, with seven passes defensed, according to press box totals. He also played seven postseason contests, tallying 13 tackles (11 solo) for Philadelphia.

Thomas
(6-foot-3, 316 pounds) was re-signed by the club as an unrestricted free agent. He spent his first four NFL seasons with the Broncos and totaled 137 tackles (90 solo), one sack (3 yds.), two interceptions (9 yds.), three passes defensed and one fumble recovery in 64 games (23 starts). He joins Rubin Carter (1975-78) as one of two interior defensive linemen in Broncos history to play in every game during his first four professional seasons.
