“The passion that our fans have for the Denver Broncos is very special, and we are fortunate to have a partnership with KUSA-TV that enables us to reach out to them through all 9NEWS platforms with in-depth, exclusive programming,” Broncos President Joe Ellis said. “KUSA’s emphasis on community involvement also provides our organization with many outreach opportunities in the region.
“We look forward to working with KUSA and its award-winning staff to provide quality Broncos content that exceeds our fans’ expectations, delivering comprehensive coverage year round and bringing them closer than ever to this team.”
With the partnership agreement, KUSA-TV will have the exclusive rights to all preseason telecasts not done by a national network partner. Channel 9 will host a series of weekly Broncos-related programs, including a weekly show with Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway and the market’s most comprehensive pregame show, while featuring regular content with Head Coach John Fox and key players throughout the season.
The team also has plans to work in collaboration with Channel 9 on various community initiatives.
In addition, KUSA-TV will have authorization to use Broncos marks, logos, video and other elements in non-news programming. The station also will have increased access to Broncos game footage and all NFL Films-licensed material.
The Broncos, who will partner with Channel 9 for the third time in team history, most recently worked with KUSA-TV during the 2003 season. KUSA-TV also served as the team’s exclusive television partner during the club’s back-to-back Super Bowl championship seasons in 1997-98.
